Last Day Of Your Life

So this is it!

Later this afternoon you are going to pass away...

It might be in a horrific automobile accident. It could be a heart attack, fall from a ladder or a jolt of electricity. Maybe you will succumb to the cancer that's been eating away at your liver for the last year.

But it doesn't matter how you die..

In the Purpose Driven Life book (chapter 4), "Measured against eternity, our time on earth is just a blink of an eye, but the consequences of it will last forever. The deeds of this life are the destiny of the next. We should be "realizing that every moment we spend in these earthly bodies is time spent away from our eternal home in heaven with Jesus." 2 Corinthians 5:6"

A popular slogan encouraged people to live each day as "the first day of the rest of your life." Actually, it would be wiser to live each day as if it were the last day of your life. Matthew Henry said, "It ought to be the business of every day to prepare for our final day."

You just never know what will happen today! That's why we're to take every moment of our time seriously! "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." James 4:14-15 (niv)

"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.." 2 Peter 3:10 (niv)
