Lord, Have Mercy

I was watching the news last night and saw all those in Pakistan under the rumble of stones from the terrible earthquake that shook the country! It's hard to watch these images: people crying out for help, the hurting, the hungry, the sick, and the poor. The worse-case of all this is there are some people buried alive under the rumble. All I ask from you is that you daily and constantly lift up your prayers for that nation in need of God's powerful hands!!

And remember, we have many within our community that are experiencing the hang-ups, hurts and habits that desires Christ-like compassion. As I look at this picture and thinking of all the people in our community, I hear in my heart Michael W. Smith's, "Lord, Have Mercy":

----
Jesus, I've forgotten the words that You have spoken
Promises that burned within my heart have now grown dim
With a doubting heart I follow the paths of earthly wisdom
Forgive me for my unbelief
Renew the fire again

Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on me
(2x)

I have built an altar where I worship things of Man
I have taken journeys that have drawn me far from You
Now I am returning to Your mercies ever flowing
Pardon my transgressions
Help me love You again

Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on me
(2x)

I have longed to know You & Your tender mercies
Like a river of forgiveness ever flowing without end
I bow my heart before You in the goodness of Your presence
Your grace forever shining
Like a beacon in the night

Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on me
(2x)
----

Lord, have mercy on me - I will begin to provide for others
Lord, have mercy on me - I will strive to Show Jesus to every soul
Lord, have mercy on me - I will grow in fellowship with all believers
Lord, have mercy on me - my heart will hunger for lost souls
Lord, have mercy on me - I will pray unceasingly
Lord, have mercy on me - if I failed to please You and You only
Lord, have mercy on me - help me love You again
Lord, have mercy on me - I will turn away from a doubtful life
Lord, have mercy on me - my Spirit's fire will burn bright before the eyes of the world
Lord, have mercy on me - I will provide my eyes, ears, hands and heart for the hurting

Lord, have mercy on me!

Mark, the song "Lord, Have Mercy" is such a fitting song during this time especially after so many natural disasters have happened (earthquakes in Pakistan and Asia, hurricanes, etc).
