Who Has The Victory?

Hello, again! Here I am doing another video devotional. I chatted with a great brother in Christ of mine via videophone yesterday and we talked for over an hour. I normally don't talk that long but it was necessary given the severity of the issue surrounding my brother.

He raised some concerns about the deaf church at Fairfax. I could tell you the whole story about what our conversation was about but let me sum this up into one point, hypocrites. Not long ago, I met a visitor whom have attended Fairfax in the past and told me that they wouldn't go to church because there are hypocrites in there. They saw some of the members of the Lord's church at Fairfax doing what they're not supposed to do (outside of the church). Therefore, they decided that if church doesn't help them, how will it help me grow and be mature in Christ? How would it help me grow in faith with God? I'm not going to jump into any conclusions here but these are great questions.

Now, as for this brother in Christ of mine, he decided to stay away from Fairfax for a number of reason: 1. Arrogance of the teacher(s) 2. The brethren thinks highly of themselves 3. Favoritism 4. Hypocrites 5. Unwilling to serve others

Interesting observation, huh? I'm sure you can find these characters in almost every church today. Right? Without a doubt, there's no such thing as a perfect church. Yet, I'm not going to make this an excuse. Every church has issues. Every church consist of hypocrites and sinners.

Here's a scenario that may help us all see from the lens of God:

1. Many of us fail to be ambassadors of Jesus Christ! We represent Jesus' church. If we hear people complain and point fingers at His church, His members and nod in agreement, we fail to defend His church. Remember, it's not my church or your church. It's Jesus' church. Our ignorance, lack of ambassadorship gives Satan the victory. We give Satan a foothold. When you made a decision to follow Jesus Christ (after your confession of faith and baptism for the forgiveness of sins), you became a soldier of Christ. You have entered the battle zone against the dark world. Now, Satan has confronted you then eventually destroyed your faith. How? Many reasons!! To name a few, you may be intimidated by a fellow brother or sister in His church. Or you became distracted with the problems in life.

2. The problem may not be those outside of the person. They may be the problem themselves. For example, you may be looking for a church that best fits your needs and desires. I'm not saying that you don't have a choice. You do. Instead of pointing fingers and spreading gossips like wildfire, you're destroying the work of God! However, their motives is to please self, not to please God. And we're fighting among ourselves, not against the dark world.

Let me close this with a couple of things for you to think about. One, are you any better than other people in your life? Though, others may appear better than you, so what! Even, you ought to have an attitude that you're no better than them! (Read Phil 2:3) Two, if you were intimidated by someone or insulted by a brother or sister or did the church hurt you, can you compare this to how Jesus suffered for the world on the cross? Did He forgive those who don't understand what they've done to Him? Have you forgiven and forgotten the issue(s) or are you still dwelling on the issues that led to your decision to break away from the vine (Jesus)? Third, make sure your own life is in check before you point your fingers to others. You will be judged if you judge others!

We welcome both sinners and saints!

Howdy Cowboy Mark,

Hey, I understand of course, what you has said many times in the past about this SENSITIVE subject ("that's issue"). However, its "CATCH 22" regardless !!!!

Remember I told you many times in the past, I don't want and don't like anything THE CHURCH to become "OXFORD-ization" like the Elitest the Darwin Survival the Fittest THE CHURCH should be "above the clouds". That is not supposed that way !!!!

Yeah you know me, of course -- maybe too much "critic" of the Pholosophy of THE CHURCH. I know there is about TEN people (or couples) they WANT personally to go church-ing -- reason ?? to make the kids much better cooperation and self-esteem to be better (and many other reasons) -- they checked the church (anywhere) and of course they BACK OFF -- why ??? ONE ANSWER !!!!! They said "Its too strict" or "it look like Islamic punishments etc" etc.

IF IF IF "THE CHURCH" (the church of Christ -- any churches that follow the steps of Christ) should become SWEETER AND HUMBLE -- making all new Hearts be "melting" like smoothly and smooching etc etc. They will "be coming" into THE CHURCH.

You all familiar know about the movie "The Ballpark" (or something like that) -- they famous slogan said:

"If you build a ballpark in middle of corn field, THEY will come for sure".

WOW !!!! How sound like that ??!!! BE SOFT AND BE SWEET AND BE NICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then they will come. That means YOU (Mark and me and you and all strict followers etc, anywhere in World) MUST be SWEEEEEEEEET and be SOOOFFFFTTT ... i dont care if a person (church-goer) is "be caught" at a bar or a party, "SO WHAT" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STILL BE NICE !!!! A strict "elder" or "deacon" CANT CANT CANT scold THAT person, no matter what. just welcome and talk exactly like "before and after" attitude -- look the same, still talk talk talk !!! No target !!!

Mr. Nice (you know haha).

Hi Mark,

We will win the victory only if we forgive each other even though we make mistakes AND ask God for his forgiveness. Satan will FLEE. However, if we have a hard time forgive each other, Satan will jump back and down and say, "I destroyed them." Listen, I know that it is hard for all of us forgive sometimes.

Now, let us think of a scenario for your church members..How would you want them to be good examples for others? We know that praying for others is one of the best answers. Someone tends to be watching over us to see if we are real.

One true story was about a friendly preacher who preaches 28,000 people every Sunday, went out with his chiildren one day. When he opened his car, the papers came out because of the wind. He thought the parking lot was dirty and he was not sure to bother to chase and pick them up. However, the Holy Spirit cautioned him and encouraged him to pick up the papers. He did and what he did not realize was that people in the parked car watched him and waited to see what he did with the papers. Then they rolled down the car window, saying, "Hello Pastor Osteen". WHEW!

Again, another story was about one pastor's husband and his family stopped by a restaurant to eat. The waitress accidentally spilled all of the drinks and dumped all of that over the husband's lap. The husband was not upset so he told the waitress not to worry and cleaned up then asked for her manager and told him that she did not mean to do that. He told the manager about his past employment. He used to work in a drive-in restaurant and did the same thing with a couple who planned to go out on a prom. Guess what, the waitress thanked him and told all of his family that she knows who they are and was very nervious to serve them. They were relieved to know that they did the right thing.

We know we are not perfect; but we have to be careful that everyone is watching over us! They may know we are human beings, but not way off from what the Bible teaches us to be like Jesus. We also need the Holy Spirit to prompt us to do the right thing.

Thanks for your comments!! Smile. Nothing is about me. Everything is about God! Satan has been and continue to work extremely hard against Christians with pure faith with God. Your comments mean alot to me. I praise God for you.

Preachers have been preaching to a "rock-hard heart".. :) Ha! Like water dripping on a rock, it will eventually crack it! But it takes time.

Some Christians changed in a flash (like overnight) but many other Christians struggle to change because they have not let go the weight of sin and bad habits on them.

I'm not only speaking for the church I am with, I'm speaking for churches all over the world! :) Pray for them all!
