Bloggers,
I'm going to take you on a journey back to the Bible basics! :) This is a long read!! Some of us, through the years, may be deluded by various teachings and interpretations. We throw out some important facts and bring in new facts that suits what we may be looking for. We learn almost new things through the study of His Word. Never a dull moment, huh? And, of course, the new teachings may bring conflict to what you had long believed in. For the next several days, I am going to show you the Scriptures and allow you to see the works and providences of God (in summary).
CREATION
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Ge. 1:1
1. First Day: called "light", day and "darkness" night.
2. Second Day: expanse between the waters to separate water from water which is called "sky".
3. Third Day: dry ground called "land", waters called "seas", seed-bearing plants, trees, fruits.
4. Fourth Day: separate day from the night, seasons, days, years, stars to give light.
5. Fifth Day: living creatures, birds in the air, creatures in the seas.
6. Sixth Day: living creatures, livestock, creatures that moves along the ground, wild animals, man.
7. Seventh Day: God rested.
ADAM & EVE
"..the Lord formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." Ge. 2:7
"In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil." Ge. 2:9
Restrictions:
"..the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." Ge. 2:16-17
Eve:
"But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man." Ge. 2:20-22
THE FALL:
"Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'" Ge. 3:1-3
Deception:
"You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Ge. 3:4-5
Disobedience:
"When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked;.." Ge. 3:6-7
"..so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves." Ge. 3:7
"Although you wash yourself with soda and use an abundance of soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me." Jeremiah 2:22
Prophecy:
"And I will put enmity between you (Satan) and the woman (Eve), and between your offspring (Satan's) and hers (Eve's); he (Jesus) will crush your head (Satan), and you (Satan) will strike his (Jesus) heel." Ge. 3:15 (parenthesis mine)
THE PROMISE:
"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." Ge. 12:2-3
"Abram believed the Lord and he credited it to him as righteousness."
"When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers." Ge. 17:1
"As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for generations to come. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised... (read the rest yourself) Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant." Ge. 17:9-10, 14
"Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised, and his son Ishmael was thirteen;.." Ge. 17:24-25
Then after Abraham came Isaac (Genesis 21). Then after Isaac, Jacob (Genesis 25:19-34).
Israel:
Jacob wrestled with a man (possibly an angel of the Lord) then, "But Jacob replied, 'I will not let you go unless you bless me.' The man asked him, 'What is your name?' 'Jacob,' he answered. Then the man said, ' Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.'" Ge. 32:26-28
Twelve Sons:
"The sons of Leah: Reuben the firstborn of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah (seedline of Jesus), Issachar and Zebulun. The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin. The sons of Rachel's maid-servant Bilhah: Dan and Naphtali. The sons of Leah's maid-servant Zilpah: Gad and Asher." Ge. 35:23-26 (parenthesis mine)
Judah's Seed:
"Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons will bow down to you. You are a lion's cub, O Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness - who dares to rouse him? The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his. He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes. His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk." Ge. 49:8-12
"..Judah my scepter.."
"..the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He (Jesus) is able to open the scroll and its sevel seals." Revelation 5:5 (parenthesis mine)
And Israel went into Egyptian bondage...
..to be continued..

Mark,
Just to let you know that I'm anxious to see more of God's Time Line, in summary, and see how God made His transition from the Old (covenant) to the New (covenant). Most people do not look into His timeline, especially when people use the "Thief On The Cross" in their argument against "baptism" for the forgiveness of sins. Do they realize that while Jesus was on the cross, the Old Covenant was still in effect? Do they realize that it wasn't until Jesus' death that the Old waxeth away and the New Covenant took its effect?
Do you mind my asking how many parts you're going to cover, "God's Time Line"? Thanks.

Mark,
Very very impressive of what you implies of what the God's Plan is really the full measurement of our whole Earth life line from the Begin to the End. God knows everything at the very first act BEFORE the Earth was made for us and already knows what the AFTER the Earth will be finished. God set TWO MAIN PLAN SYSTEMS -- before Jesus died and after Jesus died. Like the person "-R" above, the TWO systems God has set plans for all of us -- Old and New Covenants. Imagine is that what would the "life culture" be set for us people, way back in Old Covenant -- much more harsher environment for us to follow the God's Guide. Now after Jesus said ,as he died on the Cross, "IT IS FINISHED" -- things become much easier for all of us to follow the God's Guide. THAT is because God really give all of love for us people. Praise the Lord as Our Dear Lord Jesus Christ Our Savior has lead us into God's Best PARADISE -- even better than all of us people's lifetime vacations. Let pray for all of us to THINK and CHEER for what the God did plan for us on Earth !!!!
One thing is very interesting: As Mark mentions about God's Plan and Guide for us, one of my daughter wrote the school paper a few months ago -- to tell what the MOST mysterious "thinking" theory/moment for her. She said tell about God's Mysterious on Earth ... as for going "backwards" from today, back to back on all previous generations etc -- seems endless all way down to the population of Earth was only TWO people on Earth (that's Adam and Eve) ... like few thousands years ago. Now she said okay and said "what is the world made from" ... yes from God. But she also said "who made God", too !!!! People now, back to Earth, back to God only (without Earth), back to WHAT ??? Very impressive of what my daughter has said that. Wow.
I ask you, Mark, what is the common sense of this Mysterious "thinking" theory about God's situation ??
God Bless All of Us and Earth for Our Dear Lord !!!
