DREAMING?

Recently, I was praying to the Lord tonight and asked Him for His wisdom and guidance. After reading His Word, especially on words like, "visions", "dreams", and "future", I just thought I'd ask my blogfriends (neat name, huh?) for your God-given input on a vision statement, mission statement and also encourage us to attain a certain and realistic, again, realistic goal that we all "will" work toward as a family and to glorify God!

Please pray about this, first, before you give me your input. Seek His guidance. Read His Word and meditate on a verse whether it's missional, serving, edifying, and others.

Don't forget, bloggers!! Jose and Kathy Abenchuchan will be coming to D.C. for the MISSIONDC, a 40 Day conference this weekend starting this Friday night!! I believe this will be a great conference, not that it's entertaining but informative to equip each of us to be fishers of men!

Keep on dreaming God's dream, blogfriends!!

Hi,

I must admit that you finally pointed out a lot of things that we need to search through praying to God. I applaud you for your God's supernatural wisdom! YEA!

According to Rick Warren's book, The Purpose Driven Church, we need to know what our church mission is?
I noticed we need to spread the GOOD NEWS to the unchurched! That is what Jesus wants us to DO!

WE have a lot of events going on every month in order to develop the unity of our brothers and sisters in Christ. That is what Jesus wants us to do!

We will continue pray to SEEK what God wants from our church! We need to look at our DEAF community to find out what they need from us?

I think what Rick Warren suggested in the book is WONDERFUL; here they are:
1) Seeker groups- they evangelize the non-believers to ask questions, have doubts about God, and find more information about the Christ.
2) Support groups- they can provide support and encourage people who are hurt or lost the loved ones and the like.
3) Service groups- they do a certain project or a ministry. For example, Visiting Angels. Mark, I think you already formed ministry groups. I congratulated you for that with God's HELP!
4) Growth groups- they do more in-depth Bible study.

IMPORTANTLY, AS RESULT OF GOOD CHURCH HEALTH IS CHURCH GROWTH; WE NEED TO GROW WARM THROUGH FELLOWSHIP; TO GROW DEEPER THROUGH DISCIPLESHIP; TO GROW STRONGER THROUGH WORSHIP; TO GROW BROADER THROUGH MINISTRY; AND TO GROW LARGER THROUGH EVANGELISM. Not only that, we also need God's part to find out if we miss anything in those areas and see if we need to work on with HIS GUIDANCE and HIS POWER!

LET US PRAYERFULLY and FEVERISHLY GO TO HIS THRONE AND INQUIRE FOR OUR DREAMS AND VISIONS!

HERE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PRAYERS:

PRAYER OF JABEZ (CHRONILES 4:10)
"Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain."

Another verse I really like is in the Bible. It is Habakkuk 2:2-3 NIV.
"Write down the revelation and make plain on tablets so that a heradl may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointment time; it speaks fo the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will
certainly come and will not delay."

Again, "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

Mark, I have made many mistakes, too. We have verses to remind us to ask GOD FIRST before we do something.

YOUR PRAYERFUL FRIEND

Encourage them to establish small groups after 40 days of classes is over.

Also, establish some teams like Rich Warren suggested: 1) The Missions Team; 2) The Membership Team; 3) The Maturity Team; and 4) the Ministry Team.

I know that each member in your church has goals or desires to do something at church so We need to find out and encourage them to implement something. Importantly, we need to pray God and ask for His WILL! We need to encourage others to keep their committment.

Rick Warren emphasized that the growth of church must have five dimensions: 1) "churches grow warmer thorugh fellowship"; 2)"churches grow deeper through discipleship"; 3)"churches grow stronger through worship"; 4)"churches grow broader through ministry"; and 5) "churches grow larger through evangelism".

Lastly, Rick Warren stated that we should find out what our purpose statement for our church is. We can ask God about that, too. I also applaud you for following two verses for your church; Matthew 22:37-40 and Matthew 28:19-20.

Let us pray for our VISIONS and DREAMS for FXCC DEAF MINISTRY to BRING the GLORY TO THE LORD!

Awesome!! You got me curious of who you are. I think I know.. ;) What you have typed surely is very helpful. Rick gave great points and suggestions so what we need to do is ask God to provide us our own goals and visions as a family. Something unique. Other churches visions and goals are shaped according to the church's personality and community.

Let's work on a goal and vision that best fits Fairfax Church of Christ deaf family and our community. We have many helpful suggestions from other writers so we can use some of them that best fits us with a different name or word.

Again, awesome comments. God surely has used you for His glory. Many thanks and keep it coming...
