Zoe Nashville '08

This year's theme was: FEARLESS...

Michelle and I had an awesome time in Nashville! Thanks to Teresa Newsom, Forrest Sponseller, Becky Hinckley for their willingness to interpret throughout the worship conference! :) Their hearts are huge for the deaf for God! Bless them!

We learned a great deal from this conference. Amid the chaos of our country's economy, rising gas, war (spiritual and physical) and not-to-mention the young generation in the U.S. and their relationship with God, FEARLESS is a perfect theme! One quote we received from Jeff Walling is:

"I choose to fear God so I don't fear you."

Perfect! This is exactly what we need. We're going through tremendous changes, even during the worst crisis in America! It takes courage to overcome huge obstacles. Thus far, we haven't overcome, just yet. But we know the Lord will, with us, prevail for sure!

Be......... FEARLESS.

I didn't know their names, but Teresa or Becky (the one in your picture) was incredible. I had heard how wonderful she was, even for those of us who don't know how to sign (or sign very well). Her expressiveness even brings a tear to our eyes. As much as I love singing, sometimes I found myself just watching her.

She doesn't just interpret, she almost dances.

Michelle..

We certainly wished you were here! Zoe is a place to be uplifted as well as broken down (giving your weights to Jesus)! Hopefully & Lord willing, we'll cross paths there at Zoe. FYI, there's a Zoe conference in Dallas. Check out their website @ www.zoegroup.org. :)

Jeremy... LOL! I know what you mean! Her name is Teresa Newsom. I believe she attends Woodmont Hills church (or maybe Otter Creek). Teresa, post a comment about yourself when (or if) you can. :) Praise God for using her, not only to the deaf but also to the hearing! The Lord's message is "seen" through her!
